Val Genova
Val Genova is a lateral alpine valley of Val Rendena.
Located in the western sector/area of the Nature Park Adamello-Brenta, a deep valley with glacial origins crossed by the river “Sarca di Genova”, it defines and separates the two mountain subgroups of the Presanella (3558 m) in the north and the Adamello (3554 m) in the south.
How to get there
By Car:
- From Trento – SS45bis, in Sarche follow SS237 del Caffaro and then SS239 to Carisolo. From Carisolo follow the road signs.
- From Milan - A4 Highway with exit at Brescia Est; continue on the SS45bis following the signs for Madonna di Campiglio; then SS239 to Carisolo. From Carisolo follow the road signs.
The refuge is located about 6 km after the entrance of the valley in Carisolo before the second waterfall called Lares.
Parking:
In Carisolo there is the a free parking neary by the river Sarca.
Near Nardis waterfall is also possibile to park it at a reduced rate.
Paying the full rate it is possible to drive to to Pian di Bédole, till the end of the valley,9 km after the Refuge Fontana Bona.
Normally the transit by car along the valley is forbidden from September to June.
By bus:
From Pinzolo and Madonna di Campiglio there is a convenient bus service (for the period of July - August).
When to visit Val Genova
From May to October is always possible to visit this wonderful place.
